Goulburn Regional Art Gallery

Support Us

Goulburn Regional Art Gallery has a dedicated team of Volunteers who work on Saturdays and sometimes during the week at the gallery and are available to give informal talks to visitors; answer questions about the current exhibition and generally liaise with visitors to the gallery.

Benefits to Volunteers: There are many varied opportunities to become involved in events at the Gallery.   These include invitations to special events; exhibition openings; fund raising events; behind-the-scenes tours with staff; and helping with mail outs and setups.

Goulburn Regional Art Gallery Volunteers also receive basic Volunteer induction training provided by Council to enable you to become a volunteer and  you are invited to every exhibition floor talk where artists or specialists in the field speak about such subjects as their art; art history, education techniques, and presentation skills in order to equip them with the necessary skills to lead tours. Being a Volunteer is a great insight into how a gallery works behind the scenes and is an excellent work experience for anyone wanting to get into this field of employment.

To be a Volunteer Guide, you are encouraged to attend each exhibition floor talk so that you have an understanding of the current exhibition.
